You want to get started in DIY and you're not sure if you want to invest in a soldering station, so you buy a hardware store soldering iron. Poor soul. I was once you. These irons cycle to maintain their heat, which means, when you need it to be at it's top temp, it'll likely be cycling off. It will frustrate you to no end. But the good news is, if you survive this, you've passed the test and are ready to buy a real soldering station. It's worth the money!
Then you can hang this one in the back of the shed to loan to your brother-in-law when his mini van's automatic sliding door harness breaks again.
It's still in the package, but it looks like maybe i stole something out of it at one time- probably a tip. It still has a couple tips in there, though .
